A Reference Sheet for UD

I sat down this evening to write about KAOS, and I realized that I'd end up having to describe all sorts of things about UD while doing that, like place names and dorm names and things like that, so I thought I would make a nice little informative post about UD, since this is a much better use of my time than reading... whatever it is that I have to read.  A couple books of the Odyssey, some speeches by John Calhoun, some other stuff by other people who were important for some reason.  No biggie.  I'm technically supposed to prove something for Geometry, but my teacher has sort of forbidden me from proving things anymore because I guess I would do it so efficiently that we'd have nothing left to do in class.  He likes to call on people who have no idea what they are doing, and then we all get to watch them writhe and squirm.

Anyway, right, UD.

Here's a map of the campus website, which I purloined from a screenshot of a PDF they had on their website.  If you're cool enough that you want your own personal PDF of a map of UD, click on over.  For the casual viewer:

However, this map has some inaccuracies/omissions, so I made a few alterations:

And, that's UD.

To be fair, I know some extremely fantastic people in Greg and Jerome.  They do not deserve to be on the West Side.

This is aslan, I pass him every day on my way up to class along the forest path:

My initials are scratched in his base on the far back right corner.  I did it very discretely.  That's more than could be said for some people though, like the person who wrote "AZLAN" in really big letters with a finger.  Really people, use a twig.

Oh, and the snaky orange line all around campus?  That's the approximate route of the 5K I did.  Except the only marker of the trail was a white line sprayed on the ground, and sometimes there were multiple lines to follow.  I think the path I drew on the map isn't nearly convoluted enough, actually.  All I know is it was really long, and I was out there for an hour running around at noon.  Well, I wasn't running for an hour, I got worn out before that.  I'd say I was running for at least a half hour though, and it wasn't pretty.  I had to blow my nose on a leaf because of all my congestion (getting over a cold here, people) so that should show you the extent of my desperate circumstances.  I wonder what the person behind me thought.

The trees and the swings are all excellent places to sit.  The swings are fun to make swing sideways.  I also like to sit on the edge of some of the planters on the mall too, sometimes.  FYI, the mall is the paved rectangular-ish patch in the middle, which a bunch of buildings are grouped around.

I had to fix the color of the tower because it was glowing blue during charity week.  It looked like an alien spacecraft had landed on top of it.  Maybe that's a reminder from my mom to "Phone home."
